Hi all, Just a quick line to say that I ran out of time to repair and prepare my Quasar for the TT but I am going to the Isle of Man, and on two wheels. The nice people at Yamaha UK have lent me one of the new Yamaha Tenere 660s to take, so if any of you who are there or going see a blue one with my trademark Givi top box and a Yam press fleet number plate then I am probably not far away.Fingers crossed I’m catching the 12.15 lunchtime ferry from Liverpool tomorrow (Saturday). All I have to do now is pack and drive up the motorway…..The Tenere won’t be as good as the Quasar on the motorway, especially in the rain, but at least I’ll have the advantage of being able to trail ride when I get there! And during TT week, that’s very handy because you can get to lots of places on the course when the roads are shut which are inaccessible to road-only bikes.I had also hoped to post an account of my ride on the electric GSXR TTX01 at the Thundersprint the other day, but have run out of time for doing that as well. However, there are several nice pix taken by Andy Davies posted at:http://www.evmotorcycle.organd there are also some that myself and Steve Ali Labib took of his electric Ducati a couple of days earlier.Or rather, there were. Right now the website is down for re-jigging, but it says that it will be back on line soon.I got the final full results through the post a few days ago and was pleased to note that in addition to coming 8th out of 20 in the Masterclass, I was 15th overall out of a total of 93 entrants, all of whom were petrol-powered except me.The results are supposed to be posted on the Sportstiming website, accessible via the www.thundersprint.com website, but I couldn’t see them, only the logos,FWIW There should be pic of me on the TTX01 in the July ish of The Rider’s Digest magazine too. I just pipped the TRD’s young whippersnapper by one tenth of a second (he was on a TZR250 or similar).TTXGPThe news from the island about the electric racers is mostly encouraging. They’ve been ripping around Jurby airfield setting up their bikes.Apparently Imperial college have had to drop out due to breaking something, but as of today there were still 19 bikes and riders due to take to the startline next Friday morning. Check out the TTXGP website for details.I have also written a short article for the official TTXGP programme.Exciting announcements have already been made about next year’s TTXGP and there will also be a demo in Ohio at the end July.www.ttxgp.comI spoke to Tudor Thomas this week and he got the rear-engined GPZ1100 slug MoT’d a few days back says he’ll be there. So that should turn a few heads!Mark Crowson has been having a nightmare with his White Quasar, but should get there one way or another.Sadly Andy Tribble can’t make it, so Mark’s will be the only Quasar. So with Arthur and Jan Nelder, that still makes 5 proper FFs by my counting. Not bad!Tony Foale, now based in the USA working for Segway, will also be at the TT.With modern mobile telling-bone communications I hope we should all be able to meet up! I’ll be on my usual mobile no. In haste, PNB
